How to Boot & Install Full Edition on GMA3600 Netbooks
Submitted By: admin Date: April 06, 2013, 03:29:35 AM Views: 4795

When you boot from your usb media, you'll see a "netbook/vesa" boot option in the Syslinux menu. Boot from this one and you should get a standard 800x600 VESA display.

Install the OS - be aware that you will need to enter bootloader options.

When you install the bootloader, you will have to provide kernel options. Make sure that at least "video=LVDS-1:d" is added. If your netbook is using an Intel i8042 keyboard controller, you will likely also have to add "i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop", or else your keyboard might not work when you boot from your installation disk. You might also want to add "ipv6.disable=1" to disable ipv6 if you know you will only need ipv4.

Boot from your installation disk. You will get the standard 800x600 VESA resolution.

At this point you should read the following article - if your screen supports 1280x800 resolution, substitute 1024 and 600 with 1280 and 800:

If you've followed the directions in the article, you will now boot up in your native resolution.
